THE EYE of THE STORM

The price of fuel is now back down to an all time low but it will be back up there sometime in the future be assured. The OPEC guys move that number up and down any time they please. Let's not just go back to sleep as if nothing happened just a short while back when the price of fuel was at at world record heights.

Of course we need to extinguish the Financial Fire Storm in Washington first or we won't have money to spend on fuel. But then we need to get back on track to becoming indepenent on foreign oil.

Why is this car not sold in the US ? ? ?

All they need to do is introduce the High Mileage Gas and Clean Diesel vehicles in the US that they are selling in Europe and not only would they sell thousands of them but it would help the domestic energy problem at the same time.
How about this 67 MPG FORD FOCUS
65 MPG FORD FOCUS

You can only have it in Europe !!!

We need to Drill Here and Drill Now

They say this is sand being pumped out to create man made islands in Dubai. A closer look could reveal shredded US Dollars being used to build these resort islands. US Oil revenues!

Just kidding but we do need to begin drilling now as a temporary means of survival until we can develop cleaner more affective means of energy, especially for our transportation.
Until recently I felt like an extremest anytime I tried to tell people about the high mileage technology that has existed for vehicles for many years. Well whether it has been around for decades or whether it just came out, it is here now.
Click on the link to the left and see the 65 MPG Diesel Powered Ford that is being sold in Europe. Ford says the US is not ready for Diesel. Even the Petrol models get around 40MPG. Here in the US vehicle manufacturers act like 24 MPG is something to rant and rave about. My F-250 with a powerful 6.0 Diesel gets over 20 MPG on the highway. Dodge is now advertising their new full sized pickup that shows 20 MPG in the commercual but it is not even verbalized in the ad. I wonder if they're doing something thy're not supposed to be doing by letting a full sized truck get 20 MPG.
So with full sized trucks getting 20 MPG, when I see a little small economy sized car advertised at only 24 MPG I have to throw down the BS Flag.

Volkswagon has a clean Diesel Jetta that get 40 MPG.
"While the Environmental Protection Agency estimates the Jetta TDI at an economical 29 mpg city and 40 mpg highway, Volkswagen went a step further to show real world fuel economy of the Jetta TDI. Leading third-party certifier, AMCI, tested the Jetta TDI and found it performed 24 percent better in real world conditions, achieving 38 mpg in the city and 44 mpg on the highway.*"

The Pickens Plan seems to have much of the needed ideas and T Boone Pickens seems like he is ready to do a major part of the implementation.

Newt Gingrich has a plan that needs to be considered.

Compressed Natural Gas

The following is quoted from www.cngnow.com:

According to a June 2008 study by Navigant Consulting, North American has at least a 120-year supply of natural gas – contradicting the notion that America is running out. And as large reserves are developed that five years ago weren’t possible to produce, that supply is growing. It’s vital because many experts agree that global oil production has peaked, even as demand is still rising. Because of its growing abundance, domestic natural gas will play a major role in meeting our 21st-century energy needs.

CNG Is AFFORDABLE

Compressed natural gas is a bona fide bargain. CNG can cut fuel costs by about 40%, and by taking advantage of existing natural gas lines at home, consumers would save even more. Another plus: CNG vehicles deliver the same power and performance at the same fuel economy as their gasoline counterparts. The slight difference in fuel economy of natural gas trucks, buses and shuttles – as compared to diesel vehicles - is more than made up in lower fuel cost for an overall savings that is impressive.

Natural Gas Is AMERICAN

About 98% of the natural gas we use comes from right here in North America. Conversely, 70% of the oil we use is imported.

We export about $1.7 billion a day to pay for foreign oil, adding to our trade deficit and weakening the dollar. By using domestic natural gas, we strengthen both our nation’s economy and energy security — keeping jobs and revenues at home.

Demand CNG NOW

It’s up to us, America’s consumers, to insist that legislators implement policies to accelerate growth in CNG vehicle manufacture, purchase and use. This includes incentives for cash-strapped automakers to produce a wider range of CNG vehicles, incentives for American consumers to buy CNG vehicles and incentives for the installation of CNG pumps at more gasoline retailers. We need to demand to be heard and to drive real change in America.
